10. Urinary Tract Infections
There is an increased risk of urinary tract infections in diabetes sufferers. You get urinary tract infections when bacteria gain entry to the urethra, and they colonize and cause an infection. You may experience a painful, burning sensation when you urinate, fever, and cloudy (and possibly bloody) urine.
The reasons for the increased incidence of urinary tract infections are unclear, but it could be from excess glucose in the bloodstream, poor circulation, and the inability of the immune system to fight off urinary tract infections. If you’re experiencing frequent, excessive urination and more urinary tract infections, it might be time to talk to your doctor.
Ask whether or not it could be related to prediabetes or the development of diabetes. If you have many of the other symptoms on this list, it could be a cause for concern. Your doctor will be able to help you figure out what is causing your urination and annoying urinary tract-related issues.
