6. A Rapid Heartbeat and Anxious Feeling
A rapid heartbeat is a scary symptom, and you may not know what’s causing it. In other words, your imagination is going to go wild. You might think the worst, and that it’s a heart attack, but a rapid heartbeat can be caused by low blood sugar, too. It can also be caused by panic attacks, which can be related to low blood sugar. Of course, you’ll probably get anxious when all this is happening, which can make the rapid heartbeat worse.
When your blood sugar drops too low, your body sends signals to your adrenal glands to release adrenaline, which will tell the liver to make more sugar. This gives you what’s commonly referred to as an adrenaline rush, and that itself can cause a feeling of anxiety.
Insufficient glucose can cause a rapid heartbeat and heart palpitations. If you’re drinking a lot of caffeine, that can make it worse. All that caffeine can cause a rapid heartbeat and heart palpitations, too. Lay off the caffeine, eat less sugary foods, and take a breather.
